Enrol new Apprentices
We know that a safe and supportive working environment is critical to the success of every apprenticeship, which is why Eglantine is committed to working closely with you to ensure your apprentice is given the best opportunity to thrive. The employer is a key partner in this journey, and your engagement is vital.
12-weekly Progress Reviews
To ensure continuous progress, you will be required to attend 12-weekly reviews with the apprentice and their assessor to formally review their development and progress against the standard.
Off-the-Job Training: A Shared Responsibility
On average, an apprentice will complete 300 hours of Off-the-Job (OTJ) training throughout their apprenticeship. The quality of this training is paramount, and it is crucial that the employer actively contributes to the planning and delivery of these hours.
OTJ training can be delivered in a variety of ways, including:
-
Formal, internal training (e.g., Food Safety, Allergen training, internal management courses).
-
Shadowing and mentoring.
-
Watching relevant documentaries, programmes on YouTube, or TED Talks, and using these as a structured discussion point with the assessor or line manager.
-
Completing the tasks within the apprenticeship workbooks.
By collaborating on the planning of OTJ hours, we ensure the training is highly relevant to your business and the apprentice's day-to-day role.
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
At the completion of the formal training period, the apprentice and employer will agree that the apprentice is ready to progress to the Gateway. Passing the Gateway signals the end of the training phase and grants permission for the apprentice to proceed to the End-Point Assessment (EPA), which is the final stage of the apprenticeship journey.
We hope you find the Employer Portal to be a valuable resource. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Health and Safety - Apprenticeship Agreement
As part of the apprenticeship agreement, you are required to ensure that your apprentice is being taught in a safe environment. Eglantine requires all employers to complete a health and safety assessment every two years and submit their employers' liability insurance certificate annually. Please click on the link below to check that you are up-to-date with the health and safety requirements.
It is the employer's responsibility to maintain a safe working environment at all times, in accordance with established health and safety regulations. This assessment does not replace this responsibility.
